How it works

  1. Drop your picture into the box above, or paste it with Ctrl+V.
  2. Choose how to set the size and type the new numbers. The other side follows so the picture is not stretched.
  3. Check the result, then download it.

JPG quality and file size

JPG throws away detail the eye barely notices. A quality of 90% looks like the original and is much smaller than 100%. Going below 70% starts to show blocks around edges.

JPG and JPEG are the same

The two names mean the same format. If a form says JPEG, a .jpg file is fine.

Questions people ask

Does resizing a JPG reduce quality?

Making it smaller keeps it sharp. Each time a JPG is saved it is compressed again, so resize from the original when you can.

How do I make a JPG a specific size in KB?

Use the exam and KB pages, for example resize to 50 KB, which land inside an exact window.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many pictures you resize.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. The picture is resized inside your browser, so it never leaves your device.
