Steps on Android and iPhone

  1. Open resizebaba.com in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone).
  2. Tap the drop area and choose Photo Library or Gallery, or take a new photo with the camera.
  3. Choose 'Photo under 50 KB', or type your own limits under Custom size. If the form also has a minimum, such as 20 KB, enter that too.
  4. Tap Resize and check the size shown next to the result.
  5. Tap Download. On Android it goes to Downloads; on iPhone it goes to the Files app, in Downloads.
  6. In the form, tap the upload button and pick the file from Downloads or Files.

Get a better result

  • Start from the original photo, not a screenshot or a WhatsApp copy: those are already compressed.
  • Crop to the face first. A smaller picture needs less compression to reach 50 KB.
  • Use good light so the photo isn't grainy. Noise makes files larger.
  • If the form asks for a certain pixel size, such as 200 × 230, use the matching exam preset.

If the upload is still rejected

Check the minimum size as well as the maximum, the pixel size and the format (JPG, not PNG or HEIC). The guide on why photos get rejected lists every common cause.

Questions people ask

How do I reduce photo size in KB on mobile without an app?

Use a browser tool such as Resize Baba: open the site, choose the photo, set the size limit and download the result. No install is needed.

Where is the resized photo saved?

On Android in the Downloads folder, on iPhone in the Files app under Downloads. You can pick it from there when a form asks for a file.

Why does the result sometimes look slightly softer?

A 50 KB limit is small, so some detail has to go. Resize Baba keeps the best quality that fits. Cropping close to the face helps.

Is it safe to use an online tool for my photo or ID?

With Resize Baba, yes: the work happens inside your browser, so the picture or PDF is never uploaded or stored on a server.
