Image DPI checker and changer
Drop a JPG or PNG below to see its DPI, then set it to 72, 96, 150, 200, 300 or 600 and download. Only the DPI value in the file changes, not the pixels, so the quality is exactly the same.

How it works
- Drop your image into the box.
- Read its current DPI.
- Pick the DPI you need and download.
What DPI really means
DPI says how many pixels print in one inch. A photo of 1200 × 1800 px prints 4 × 6 inches at 300 DPI, or a bigger 16 × 24 inches at 75 DPI. Changing DPI changes the print size, not the sharpness.
When a form asks for 300 DPI
Some forms want a file 'at 300 DPI'. If the pixel size is already right, setting 300 DPI here is enough. If the form also gives a size in cm or inches, use the image resizer's cm, mm and inch helper to get the pixels.
Questions people ask
Does changing DPI improve quality?
No. DPI only changes the label in the file. To get more detail you need more pixels.
Which files are supported?
JPG and PNG keep their format. Other formats are saved as JPG.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The tool runs in your browser, so the picture never leaves your device.
