  3. Check the result, then download it.

What a percentage does to a 4000 × 3000 photo

  • 75%: 3000 × 2250 px (about 56% of the original pixels)
  • 50%: 2000 × 1500 px (about 25% of the original pixels)
  • 25%: 1000 × 750 px (about 6% of the original pixels)
  • 10%: 400 × 300 px (about 1% of the original pixels)

Percent or exact pixels?

Percentage is the quickest way to shrink something by a known amount. If a form needs exact pixels, use the pixels option instead.

Questions people ask

How do I reduce an image by 50 percent?

Set the scale to 50%. Both sides are halved.

Does 50% make the file half the size?

Smaller than that: halving both sides leaves a quarter of the pixels, so the file is often around a quarter of the size, depending on the picture.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many pictures you resize.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. The picture is resized inside your browser, so it never leaves your device.
